Ori Gersht is potentially our new favourite fine artist, why? Well let’s take his 2006 series “Exploding Flowers,” where he works with a florist to recreates elaborate bouquets inspired by Henri Fantin-Latour’s lush 19th-century still lifes, then blows those little babies up! KABOOM!

While I describe the series as way cool (I’m using technical terms now), Gersht describes the series as “celebratory and violent.” To see a very cool video of a piece being blown up, head over here. Who wants to blow up some Gerberas?
