I started Tinge just shy of a year ago. I love the wild aesthetic that is popular right now, but I love to pair that wild feel with something polished as well. There is definitely beauty in simplicity, and I like to live by that statement when thinking about florals, styling, and weddings.

In January of this year, a local photographer that I admire contacted me about making a simple headpiece for a little inspiration shoot. The results were incredibly beautiful and she had the idea of doing a collaboration every month and calling it Flower of The Month. This collaboration every month has been my favorite project, and I’ve been lucky enough to gain a great friend, and some really beautiful images! This photographer is Ciara Richardson.

The first couple of months were quite simple, but the more we worked together the more inspired we were to push the boundaries of floral and photography. In April we worked together to style a full inspiration shoot with a bride and groom, as well as a beautiful table scape in one of our favorite venues that really complimented the styling. Ciara even made the beautiful gown that the bride wore the night before the shoot!

As we approached the Summer months, Ciara was browsing the local online classifieds and found an old footed tub. She had the idea to use it for a Flower of the Month shoot, and since it was in June I felt the Garden Rose was the perfect flower to feature. I love garden roses and the old time romance they bring to arrangements. I order multiple varieties for every wedding and they really are a staple for my aesthetic. This shoot wasn’t as much bridal as it was just a pretty setting for a beautiful concept.

We continue to work together and plan on doing so until the year is out! Throughout the year and working together, we’ve not only learned how well we work together, but we have become great friends. The flowers and concepts have been different each month, but collectively the images tell a beautiful story of both of our work and how we have grown.

This year has been nothing short of challenging. I’ve felt every emotion on the spectrum from the highest highs to the lowest lows. Being challenged though brings a great reward of accomplishment, and because of that I don’t regret a moment of those busy and stressful times. I’m very lucky and grateful to be doing something I love as my full time job.
