Of all the florists around the world, Dara from FLORALUX has to be one of my absolute favourites. She is super kind, super friendly and super cool. Her innovative use of colour and texture in her work is always keeping me intrigued and wanting to see more. I have not always been the biggest fan of coloured aluminium wire, but when Dara uses it in her designs, it makes me want to buy copious amounts of wire, hoping I can make it look as cool as she does. The people of LA are very lucky to have such a floral genius.
Dara entered the world of floral design at the age of 14, when she started at Alvirne High Vocational School, which is heavily horticulture and agricultural focused, however credits her Mother as the original source of her budding floral interests, “I believe my love of plants and flowers came from my Mother though, she had a beautiful garden that I played in growing up in New Hampshire with peonies, lilacs, bittersweet, and forsythias abounding”
