Each December, Pantone forecast the trending colour for approaching year, and for 2013 they went all Emerald. “Emerald, a vivid verdant green, enhances our sense of wellbeing further by inspiring insight as well as promoting balance and harmony”.
If you say “Emerald” in the floral world, most florists would reach for foliage or hit the spray-paint hard. The HH team has been discussing florist’s reactions to this forecast, and hearing a lot of “this won’t affect to me”. Along with being its own trend for the year, Emerald coincides with modern consumers being more eco-conscience, not to mention the “deliberate vintage” trend, which will hit its peak in 2013. For example, Brides are asking more and more for all green natural weddings.
What can you do? Try introducing not only more Emerald materials into your work, but perhaps getting creative with Emerald elements, like cool vessels or embellishments. Hell, go all out and create grand installations paying homage to Emerald!
We have found some of our favourite Emerald coloured (or as close as) materials.
